Okay, I’ll admit that I’m not a fan of country pop. But some how I like this Lady Antebellum song. I love however this soulful R&B take by Ahmir of “I Need You Now.” It makes me feel kinda funny, like when I used to climb the rope in gym class.

Have you ever actually listened to the words of "Baby, It's Cold Outside?" The guy tells the girl to stay, and the girl asks "Say What's in this drink?" So it's a song about date rape. Merry flippin' Christmas.

It was first recorded for the movie "Neptune's Daughter" by Ester Williams and Ricardo Montalban. Wait a minute .... Ricardo Monalban? I guess on Fantasy Island date rape it okay, or something.

I Need You Now

9/10 times if you have one great artist singing another great artist's song, you wind up with a great cover. If you have two great artists, like let's say British songstress Adele, doing a duet with let's say former Hootie and the Blowfish front man Darius Rucker, covering a country/pop hit like, Lady Antebellum's "I Need You Now." And it's just pretty great! Oh and in case you were wondering, that totally wasn't hypothetical.

Pa-Pa-Polka Face

Today is Alfred Matthew Yankovic's 51st birthday (Wow, really? He's that old?) As a child of the 80's and 90's I must acknowledge this.


No, "Weird" Al Yankovic is not a cover artist. He does lots of polka medleys which would are covers, but for the most part he does parodies, or original songs. Just to be clear.


I was originally going to post Bohemian Polka as it's his only non-medley polka cover. But I stumbled upon some grainy concert footage which is allegedly the polka medley from his upcoming album. Even if it's not, it's still awesome.
