Hit Me baby, Hit me baby one more time, Fountains of wayne, Britney Spears, cover, cover songs, covers, song, music, dj jazzy crut

Hit Me Baby (One More Time) [Fountains Of Wayne / Britney Spears]

From the Vault … July 27, 2012

I’m really surprised more women’s right’s groups weren’t up in arms about “Hit Me Baby (One More Time)” since it so clearly advocates punching women in the face. That’s not what it’s about? Then how come every time I hear it I want to punch Britney Spears in the face? Even when covered by Fountains of Wayne I want to punch Britney Spears in the face. Actually come to think about it, even when I don’t hear the song I want to punch Britney Spears in the face … who’s with me? Lets start a Facebook group or something.

britney spears, toxic, Chapin Sisters, Harry Chapin, mary chapin carpenter, chris crocker, cover to cover, Cover Song

Toxic [Chapin Sisters / Britney Spears] COVER TO COVER

From the Vault … Feb. 22, 2011

It’s time for another Cover to Cover. “Cover to Cover” is just that. Two (or more) cover versions of the same song, in one post. So that you can compare and contrast the similarities and differences in a three page essay. Taking on Britney Spears’ Toxic are two different groups.

The lighter side is the Chapin Sisters. Best known for being the daughters of Harry Chapin who aren’t Mary Chapin Carpenter, the girls have a light airy accoustic ballad-y take on the song.

And how fucking dare any of you make fun of Britney! Leave Britney Alone! Please! *sob*

On the other side of the coin is Static Lullaby, from the Punk Goes Pop 2 CD. A heavy heavy version with toxic vocals. Awesome.

Pa-Pa-Polka Face

Today is Alfred Matthew Yankovic's 51st birthday (Wow, really? He's that old?) As a child of the 80's and 90's I must acknowledge this.

No, "Weird" Al Yankovic is not a cover artist. He does lots of polka medleys which would are covers, but for the most part he does parodies, or original songs. Just to be clear.

I was originally going to post Bohemian Polka as it's his only non-medley polka cover. But I stumbled upon some grainy concert footage which is allegedly the polka medley from his upcoming album. Even if it's not, it's still awesome.

Ladies and Gentleman, covering Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Flo Rida, Kid Cudi, Lady Antebellum, Justin Bieber, Pink, Katy Perry, Owl City, Jamie Foxx, Iyaz, Jay Sean, Taio Cruz, and Ke$ha, here is Polka Face.
