Drive [Deftones / Cars]
It is in this bloggers humble opinion that the Cars are the most underrated band since sliced bread. Wait … that makes no sense. But I’m down with that.

Let’s see, hot girls in tight outfits doing an acapella cover of song originally with male vocals … what more do you want? To bitch slap Nick Lachey? Yeah, well me too. But this season of The Sing Off is still young, and this here Bruno Mars cover by Delilah makes me with I could watch real TV and not just NetFlix. See them EMOTE!

Dubstep covered Acapella, in dutch. Sure … why the heck not? It’s just refreshing to hear Skrillex and not wonder if a pair of twenty year old fax machines are making sweet, sweet love.
So here’s Dario Fo Choir covering Skrillex.
Ladies can (and do) do acapella too. Can’t forget them in my week of acapella.
HomeFree is basicly … Oak Ridge Boys : the Next Generation featuring Howdy Doody at the helm. And that’s meant as a compliment. As the fourth in my week long series of Acapella covers, it really works.
Though they did miss the great opportunity to mash the song up with Honky Tonk Badunkadunk.
Risin’ up, back on the street. Did my time, took my chances with a third acapella cover in row. It’s like I’m doing a theme week or something.
How about an entire week of Acapella covers? I know you want it. You’re a good girl!

New Found Glory covering Sixpence None The Richer. What? Is there a rule I have to write something witty every blog post?
Can’t you taste this scone?
There, I posted it. No need to put it on my Facebook wall for the 345th time. Thank you!
I was all prepared to make fun of Sam Smith’s ridiculous hair cut, and then I heard him singing Fast Car and I was so blown away I forgot to do it.
Tuesday is Soylent Green day.
You can’t be blamed for not realizing the Great White song “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” was a cover song. The whole shark theme, the hair metal lyrics, the fact you weren’t born when the song came out. So here’s the original UnCovered version by Ian hunter.

I’m really surprised more women’s right’s groups weren’t up in arms about “Hit Me Baby (One More Time)” since it so clearly advocates punching women in the face. That’s not what it’s about? Then how come every time I hear it I want to punch Britney Spears in the face? Even when covered by Fountains of Wayne I want to punch Britney Spears in the face. Actually come to think about it, even when I don’t hear the song I want to punch Britney Spears in the face … who’s with me? Lets start a Facebook group or something.

It’s like 2010 Pop music got frisky and made babies with it’s self.
Lizzie Hale is the hottest woman in Rock right now. Also I can’t think of another woman in rock right now. Pop, yes. Rock, no.
A deep cover is a cover song, that’s so much more famous than the original, that the original is almost entirely forgotten. I figureed I’d showcase “Hanging On The Telephone” before you crazy kids almost entirely forget what a phonebooth is.
My songs know what you did in the dark. My songs know you were using a flashlight to read She-Hulk comics under the covers.
Too bad there isn’t a recent song called “Let Him Go” so we could cover all the bases.

True this cover lacks the dripping sexuality of the original INXS version, but COM’ON! It’s Me First and The Gimmie Gimmie who in my book can do no wrong.
I liked OkGo before they did music videos.

Slipknot … covered by Hanson?!?
Is this some kinda of April Fool’s gag? Oh … yes, kinda of course it totally is. In 2011 Hanson pulled one over on their fans leading them to believe they were releasing an entire album of Slipknot covers. As proof they offered grainy leaked cellphone video on YouTube of them covering “Wait and Bleed.”
Not the greatest audio quality here, but still … rubber duckin’ weird in an awesome kinda way.
I am completely oblivious to pop music. I thought this was a new song until stilrzgirl told me otherwise and then I felt like a tool.
Hey … is that that guy from Foo Fighters?

From the soundtrack to the upcoming Cars 2 soundtrack, here’s Weezer covering the Cars. See how clever Pixar was with picking songs for the soundtrack? Which really shouldn’t be any surprise since Cars was the worst movie Pixar has ever made. It’s like someone decided to reenact Doc Hollywood with Matchbox cars and then got someone drunk to buy the movie rights.
