From The Vault … Sept. 22, 2011
Let’s see, hot girls in tight outfits doing an acapella cover of song originally with male vocals … what more do you want? To bitch slap Nick Lachey? Yeah, well me too. But this season of The Sing Off is still young, and this here Bruno Mars cover by Delilah makes me with I could watch real TV and not just NetFlix. See them EMOTE!
Ladies can (and do) do acapella too. Can’t forget them in my week of acapella.
How about an entire week of Acapella covers? I know you want it. You’re a good girl!
Can’t you taste this scone?
Lizzie Hale is the hottest woman in Rock right now. Also I can’t think of another woman in rock right now. Pop, yes. Rock, no.
From the Vault … July 8, 2011
True this cover lacks the dripping sexuality of the original INXS version, but COM’ON! It’s Me First and The Gimmie Gimmie who in my book can do no wrong.
Awww yeah, slow jamming out another entry in my week of Cartoon Covers. Here’s the gang at Postmodern Jukebox belting out a tribute to Yakko, Wakko and Dot.
Why, when I was trying to think of an Irish band to cover for St. Patty’s Day, was the first band I thought of was House of Pain? And then the first cover I find of House of Pain is by Limp Bizket. Ahhh fuck I’m drinking green beer.
From the Vault … May 6, 2011
This one was just posted by Smashing Pumpkins to their Facebook feed, so I thought I’d share. Here’s the Bad Rabbits doing 1979.
Download it for free.
Like all Blink-182 songs, this song is filled with lots of really deep sounding cliched meaningless metaphors. Whish is what makes it so deep.
Livin’ On A Prayer [Hayseed Dixie / Bon Jovi]
Oooooh is that Pert Plus? Don’t drop the soap!
In A Little While [Hanson / U2]
You know U2 really doesn’t make a bad song, and it’s kinda hard to improve on the original. But here Hanson kinda sorta does … nope. 1997 me would kick 2014 me’s ass if I actually broke down and said something nice about Hanson.
Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around [Puddle Of Mudd with BC Jean / Tom Petty with Stevie Nicks]
Someday Puddle of Mudd will be on an classic rock station. On that day “classic” will lose all meaning.
