I always thought a singing a Christmas song for African famine relief was kinda weird because I don't think of Africa as a continent that does a whole lot of Christianity anyway. I mean they ask, "Do they know it's Christmas time?" and my thought has always been, "No, they don't and likely don't care." Maybe I'm dumb though.
